Mark read law at Kingston University, and was subsequently called to the Bar of England and Wales and the Gibraltar Bar in 2002. He practiced as a lawyer in Gibraltar for just over 10 years, specialising in conveyancing and representing individuals as well as financial corporations in property transactions. He joined Land Property Services in 2012 as a Residential Property Management Surveyor, and was appointed Director of the company in July 2017.
