Vacancy for Assistant Estate Manager...

An employment opportunity has arisen within Land Property Services Limited (LPS) for the post of Assistant Estate Manager.

The successful applicant will work within the Estate Management division of LPS’s Commercial Property Management Department, which manages a variety of commercial estates. The Assistant Estate Manager will primarily carry out tasks in support of the company’s Senior Estate Manager but will at times need to assist other staff members. Duties include (but are not limited to) the following:-

·  Administrative duties within the Estate Management office as well as the general office

·  Communication with tenants, occupiers and users of estates managed by LPS

·  Obtaining work estimates – Liaison with contractors, utilities & service providers and statutory bodies

·  Writing estate management reports

·  Gathering and analysing data as the basis for plans and reports

·  Surveying buildings and their components

·  Supervising contractors, service providers and maintenance staff on site

·  Monitoring and supervision of projects and works

Qualifications

Applicants should ideally possess an appropriate academic qualification relating to building construction, facilities management, or property management but this is not essential. Applicants require a minimum of five GCSE passes at A, B or C grade (or equivalents), including English and Mathematics. Applicants in possession of a full GNVQ (Intermediate), BTEC (Intermediate) or BTEC (First Diploma) together with GCSE English with a pass at A, B or C (or equivalents) are also eligible to apply. Previous experience in property management is not essential but may be advantageous. The successful applicant should also be prepared to work towards achieving membership of a professional body or institution should this not already be held.

Starting Salary

Salary commences at £25,000.00 per annum with an additional on-call allowance. A personal pension plan is also offered. The successful applicant shall have a 6-month probationary period of employment.

Working Hours

Normal working hours are 8am to 3.30pm, Monday to Thursday and 8am to 3.00pm on Friday. However, earlier starts and late finishes can be common, depending on workload. Your time would be split between office and on-site work.

As an Assistant Estate Manager, you will need:

·  Good communication and negotiating skills

·  Good problem-solving skills

·  An aptitude for maths

·  Good IT skills

·  A methodical approach to work

·  The ability to organise your own workload to meet deadlines

·  The ability to work well under pressure

·  An understanding of Building and Planning Regulations and other relevant legislation

·  Good technical ability and an understanding of building services and components
