An employment opportunity has arisen within the Rates section at LPS.   Working as part of a team, the successful applicant will undertake administrative and cashier duties, in support of the services offered at the Rates Department. 

Job profile 

Duties include (but are not limited to) the following: 

  • Processing payments at the counter, together with reconciliation duties.
  • Processing changes to our customised computer system.
  • Carrying out administrative duties, such as telephone and email enquiries.
  • Any associated tasks in support of the services offered at the Rates Department.

Qualifications 

Applicants require a minimum of five GCSE passes at A, B or C grade (or equivalents), including English and Mathematics. Applicants in possession of a full GNVQ (Intermediate), BTEC (Intermediate) or BTEC (First Diploma) together with GCSE English with a pass at A, B or C (or equivalents) are also eligible to apply. Applicants should have good IT skills and be able to work under their own initiative as well as part of a team. 

Starting Salary

The starting salary is £20,000 per annum.  Pension scheme and contributory Critical Illness insurance will also be offered after a probationary period. 

Working hours 

This post is a full-time post. Working hours are 8am – 3.30pm but has the benefit of flexitime between 8am and 9am which then needs to be covered proportionately between the hours of 3.30pm and 4.30pm.
